Over a dozen ministers, including CM Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar rushed to Chennai yesterday to visit Deshmukh, whose condition remains critical, following a serious liver problem.

His family members have reportedly said that a slight improvement has been detected in his condition since he was admitted to the Global Hospital on Monday evening.

PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal, forest minister Patangrao Kadam, home minister RR Patil, revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat, EGS minister Nitin Raut, school education minister Rajendra Darda, dairy development minister Madhukarrao Chavan, and food and civil supplies minister Anil Deshmukh are among those to have gone to Chennai.

A team of doctors, led by noted liver transplant specialist Dr Mohamed Rela, is treating Deshmukh, who is likely to be kept under observation for two more days. u00a0
