Two persons were killed and 11 injured on Thursday after two buses collided in Maharashtra's Latur district, a police official said, reported the PTI.
The incident took place on Tuljapur-Latur highway at 5 am near Ujni in Ausa tehsil, Assistant Inspector Mahavir Jadhav said.
"Two buses belonging to travel agencies were involved in the accident. The cleaner of one of the buses and a passenger died. They have been identified as Namdev Suryawanshi (40) and Nitin Devarse (35). The impact caused one of the buses to overturn, injuring 11 passengers from both vehicles," he said, according to the PTI.
The injured were shifted to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical Hospital, he said, adding that none of them are critical, the news agency reported on Thursday.
Two injured as car driven by minor boy rams into motorbikes in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Meanwhile, in an another incident in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra, as many as two persons were injured after a car driven by a 14-year-old boy crashed into their motorbikes in the city, the police said on Thursday, reported the PTI.
According to the police officials, the incident took place at around 5 pm on Wednesday near Salim Ali Sarovar area in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city.
Following the accident, the boy driving the vehicle fled away from the spot leaving the car behind, an official said.
The police later arrested the minor boy's father for allegedly allowing the minor to drive the four-wheeler and registered a case against him under the Motor Vehicles Act, he said.
A video clip of the incident also surfaced on social media, according to the PTI.
The officials said that the car hit the two motorbikes on a road connecting Uddhavrao Patil Chowk to the Homeguard office in the city and also rammed into an electric pole.
The two motorbike riders, Gajanan Talekar and Sanjay Kamil, were injured. Talekar suffered a leg fracture in the incident, the official said.
An electric pole was also damaged in the incident and power supply in the area was disrupted for nearly two hours, a power department official said, as per the PTI.
