Ghaziabad Police has arrested mobile thieves, who would sell mobile phones after changing their IEMI numbers, and recovered 146 phones of reputed brands from them, police said on Thursday

Ghaziabad Police has arrested mobile thieves, who would sell mobile phones after changing their IEMI numbers, and recovered 146 phones of reputed brands from them, police said on Thursday.
According to the crime branch of Ghaziabad Police, latest mobile phones of well-known brands like Samsung, Oppo, iPhone and Nokia were recovered from the accused, identified as Gulfam, Abid, Nasir and Amir. Sophisticated tools required to change configuration of phones, computer, data cables, hard disks, chargers and seven mobile phones with tampered IMEI numbers were recovered from them.

The gang used to operate from a mobile phone shop -- Arman Communication -- in Golden Plaza commercial complex of the city, police said. In another incident, Ghaziabad Police arrested on Thursday a drug peddler and recovered five kilogram cannabis from his possession.
Police arrested him from the GT Road Industrial area falling under the Vijay Police Station limits of the city. They said during a drive against drug abuse in the city, police nabbed the drug peddler, Aslam, of Rosy Colony of Ghaziabad. Aslam was booked under the NDPS Act, according to SP (City) Akash Tomar.
