The other MPs present included TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee as well as lawmakers from DMK and the Left parties. They assembled near the Makar Dwar entrance of Parliament, holding placards and shouting slogans to demand the withdrawal of SIR

This marked the 13th day of demonstrations by the Opposition in the Parliament. The protest was paused only on Monday as the MPs condoled the demise of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren

The protesting MPs displayed banners with slogans such as "Our Vote. Our Right. Our Fight" and "SIR - Silent Invisible Rigging", underscoring their objection to the alleged manipulation of electoral data

The lawmakers also carried placards reading "Stop SIR", along with posters accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the Central government in what they claim is an attempt to influence the outcome of upcoming elections

Many of the placards included slogans referencing "vote theft", echoing the claims made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in a press conference held on Thursday

The Opposition has demanded a formal debate on SIR in both Houses of Parliament. They argue that the revision exercise is designed to "disenfranchise voters" in Bihar ahead of the state elections scheduled later this year
