US President Donald Trump called on NATO and European nations to take stronger action against Russia, particularly criticising Europe for continuing to buy oil from Moscow. Speaking to reporters, Trump said, "They're not doing the job. NATO has to get together. Europe has to get together. Europe is my friend, but Europe is buying oil from Russia. I don't want them to buy oil. And the sanctions that they're putting on are not tough enough. And I'm willing to do sanctions, but they're going to have to toughen up their sanctions commensurate with what I'm doing."

"Just to clarify, you wouldn't move ahead until NATO moves ahead. Well, I'm ready to move ahead, but they have to do it. But right now they're talking and they're not doing. They're buying a lot of oil from Russia. That's not the deal," he added, while also criticising European nations for continuing to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia.

Recently, Trump proposed that NATO impose tariffs of 50 per cent to 100 per cent on China. Beijing on Monday described the US call to G7 and NATO countries to impose tariffs against China and other countries importing Russian oil as a "typical act of unilateral bullying" and "economic coercion", and threatened countermeasures if Washington's call is heeded. Meanwhile, Chinese and US delegations reconvened in Spain on Monday for the second day of their talks on economic and trade issues.

Prez Trump threatens to call national emergency

US President Donald Trump on Monday warned that he would take federal action and declare a national emergency if Washington, DC, authorities end cooperation between the Metropolitan Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying he "won't allow crime to return". The President also accused Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser of bowing to "Radical Left Democrats", saying, "Now, under pressure from the Radical Left Democrats, Mayor Muriel Bowser, who has presided over this violent criminal takeover of our Capital for years, has informed the Federal Government that the Metropolitan Police Department will no longer cooperate with ICE in removing and relocating dangerous illegal aliens."
