The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially finalised the updated central contracts for England Men's international cricket ahead of the upcoming international cycle.
The updated lineup includes 30 centrally contracted players alongside nine recipients of England Development contracts for the 2026/27 campaign. This represents an expansion compared to the previous 2025/26 term, which totalled 30 players overall, according to the ECB website.
Several players have secured their maiden Central Contracts, including Tom Banton, Sam Cook, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Emilio Gay, Matt Fisher, and Dan Lawrence. Additionally, Ollie Robinson has made his way back onto the list, having previously held central deals in 2022 and 2023.
Multi-year contracts have also been handed out, with Sonny Baker upgraded to a two-year deal, while Jordan Cox and Henry Crocombe earned two-year agreements for the very first time. In total, 11 athletes are now secured on two-year terms.
Meanwhile, James Coles, Mason Crane, Ben McKinney, Liam Patterson-White, Thomas Rew, and Matthew Revis earned their inaugural England Development contracts. Crane's inclusion arrives concurrently with his recall to an England squad for the first time in over eight years.
Nine players from last year's squad extended their terms through September 2028: Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Joe Root, and Josh Tongue.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Adil Rashid, and Jamie Smith are currently serving the second year of their multi-year agreements, lasting until the conclusion of England's 2027 home summer.
Two-year contracts: Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Jacob Bethell, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Joe Root, Josh Tongue (to 30 September 2028).
One-year contracts: Rehan Ahmed, Tom Banton, Shoaib Bashir, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Matthew Fisher, Emilio Gay, Dan Lawrence, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Ollie Robinson, Phil Salt, Jamie Smith (to 30 September 2027).
Development contracts: James Coles, Mason Crane, Josh Hull, Eddie Jack, Ben McKinney, Liam Patterson-White, Thomas Rew, Matthew Revis, Mitchell Stanley (to 30 September 2027).
No longer contracted: Zak Crawley, Tom Lawes (development), Ben Stokes (retired), Luke Wood, Mark Wood (retired).
