Hyderabad: Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim looked at the positives after suffering a 208-run defeat to India at Uppal here yesterday.

Rahim felt if they had even one batsman of Virat Kohli's calibre, they could have drawn the Test. When asked to comment on the Indian skipper's view that basic batting technique was enough to score runs on this pitch, Rahim replied: "Unfortunately, we don't have a Virat in our team. If our batsmen had Virat's basic batting technique, we could have drawn the game.

"I think this was a different Indian wicket. Everyone tried to play basic cricket. Rather than mulling over our mistakes, we need to work on how we can play for longer periods in these conditions," he said.

Rahim added that playing against the No. 1 Test team taught them a couple of things. "Playing the No. 1 team is a privilege. The way they bowled with the new and the old ball, made our batsmen work hard. We never got the feeling that we are set and can get big runs. Every Indian bowler had a plan and executed it perfectly and we need to learn that," he added.
