Ind vs Eng 3rd Test: Mohammad Azharuddin thinks THIS about Team India's bowling attack against England

Former captain Mohammad Azharuddin hailed Team India's performance in the second Test match against England in Birmingham.

Ahead of the third Test match, Azharuddin said that India's bowling unit is superior to that of England.

"They played well in Birmingham. With that confidence, the team must be well settled. When Bumrah comes in, it will be great for the team... Our bowling attack is currently superior to England's. I wish the team the very best and hope they come out as the winner," Azharuddin told ANI.

With the series currently tied at 1-1, the visitors are all set to take on England for the third Test match at Lord's Cricket Ground, starting from July 10.

In the second Test match, despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, India delivered an outstanding all-round performance. Shubman Gill registered the scores of 269 and 161 runs, followed by Mohammed Siraj's six-wicket haul. Akash Deep, who came in as a replacement for Bumrah, bagged a total of 10 wickets in Birmingham.

Indian skipper Gill sits at the top of the run chart in the series with 585 runs in two Tests, four innings at an average of 146.25 and an attacking strike rate of over 73, with three centuries and a marathon 269 (387 balls) at Edgbaston as his best score.

England pacer Josh Tongue has claimed the most wickets in two concluded Test matches. With 11 wickets at an average of 33.63, Tongue has been benched for the third Test, and Jofra Archer has made the cut in the playing XI.

Stalwart Joe Root needs 45 runs to become the first batter to score 3000 against India in Test cricket. Gill needs just 18 more runs to pass Rahul Dravid's haul of 602 in 2002, to smash the most runs by an Indian batter in England. Along with Root and Gill, KL Rahul is the third top player to watch out for from the much-anticipated Lord's clash.

India and England have faced off 19 times at Lord's, where the latter has won 12 of those encounters, while India has managed just three victories.
