Suryansh Shedge
Mumbai all-rounder Suryansh Shedge, 23, who has replaced injured Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, told mid-day that he's not looking at the opportunity as pressure, but rather as motivation.
"There won't be pressure, it will be motivation. The energy and motivation you get after wearing that India jersey is unmatched. I have worked hard to get here. So, I won't take any pressure," Shedge, who earned his maiden India call-up after scoring 147 runs and picking two wickets in five games during the India âA' team's triumph in the tri-series in Sri Lanka recently, said on Tuesday.
"I was the captain during the Mumbai Emerging team's England tour last year and it was a good experience, playing white-ball cricket in English conditions. That experience will help me a now," he further stated, adding that his conversations with former national selector Jatin Paranjape in the past two years have helped him "a lot on the mental aspect of the game", while also thanking his childhood coaches Manish Bangera and Monty Desai for helping him perfect his basics.
