Shreyas Iyer backs F1 sim racing in India

Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has always been a Formula One fan, so it came as no surprise when, on Thursday, he was named brand ambassador of F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, F1's official program in India, which is led by the Mumbai Falcons Racing Team, and focuses on simulator racing to nurture budding e-sports stars in India.

"When I heard what Mumbai Falcons is building in terms of a real pathway that takes young Indians from where they are today to where they could go, I felt this is the kind of initiative I would have wanted access to growing up," said Iyer, who was in attendance at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2023, where he gifted four-time champion Max Verstappen his Team India jersey.
