Suved Parkar
Promising batter Suved Parkar will lead the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) emerging cricketer's 18-member squad on their upcoming tour to the United Kingdom.
Mumbai Ranji pacer Mohit Avasthi, opener Musheer Khan, wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu and young leg-spinner Naman Pushpak are also part of the team.
Former India captain and MCA advisor Dilip Vengsarkar and coach Omkar Salvi will accompany the team.
"Dilip [Vengsarkar] sir will be with the team for one week. Being a former India captain, he will share his vast experience of having played in the UK, with our players, and it will be a big plus for Mumbai cricket," MCA secretary Dr Unmesh Khanvilkar told mid-day on Tuesday.
The MCA team will play three two-day matches and several one-day fixtures against the second XI teams of Sussex, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire counties between June 20 and July 15.
MCA president Ajinkya Naik said: "The purpose of this tour goes beyond results. It is an opportunity for our young players to experience new environments, broaden their horizons, and grow, both as cricketers and as individuals. Such exposure is invaluable in preparing them for future opportunities at the highest level of the game. The chance to learn from a legend like Dilip Vengsarkar will make this experience even more enriching, memorable, and meaningful." ends
