Team India is all set to lock horns with England in the semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2026. The match is scheduled to be played on March 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Speaking about the upcoming clash, former Team India cricketer Kedar Jadhav feels that the "Men in Blue" have a pretty good chance to win the match.
"India has a pretty good chance of qualifying for the final. I think India is likely to win this game against England and qualify for the finals. India has a pretty good in-form batting lineup currently," he said.
Further speaking, the former cricketer also said that he would back the struggling opening batsman Abhishek Sharma, especially for the match at the Wankhede Stadium.
"We saw, in the last game, Sanju Samson delivered when it mattered the most. Abhishek Sharma is there, and I would definitely back him on, especially tonight's Wankhede pitch... India is the host nation; the full crowd support will be with India. So that would be a huge bonus. Most of our players are in good form, whether it's bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel," said Jadhav.
Ahead of the match, Team India's management will also expect its in-form batsman Ishan Kishan to deliver a big knock. After tasting success in the initial matches of the tournament, the left-handed batsman is struggling to find himself among the runs.
On the other hand, the "Three Lions" will also expect their premier batsman Jos Buttler to bring his 'A-game' tonight against the "Men in Blue".
The team winning semi-final 2 will seal its spot in the title clash of the marquee event. The match is scheduled to be played against New Zealand on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
