The twenty-six-year-old took just 60 deliveries to reach the milestone against Oman in their final qualifying match at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. The feat also took Tamim into the history books as he became the first Bangladesh player to hit centuries in all three formats of the game. Tamim has seven Test tons and six ODI centuries to his name.

The stylish left-hander reached the three-figure mark yesterday with a classy cover drive in the fourth delivery of the 19th over, bowled by Bilal Khan. Tamim hit 10 fours and five sixes en route his 103 that saw Bangladesh post a massive 180 against Oman.

Chasing 181 to qualify for the World T20 main draw, Oman were 41 for two in the seventh over when rain halted play, and a revised target of 152 from 16 overs was set as per the Duckworth-Lewis method. At the time of going to press, Oman were 45/4 needing an improbably 107 to get off just 46 balls.
