Punjab Kings were asked to bat first after losing the toss. Opener Prabhsimran Singh led the charge with a blistering 57 off just 32 balls, while Cooper Connolly chipped in with a useful 22-run knock.

Despite the strong opening stand, PBKS suffered a middle-order collapse as skipper Shreyas Iyer, Suryansh Shedge and Shashank Singh were dismissed for single-digit scores. Azmatullah Omarzai’s late cameo of 38 off 17 balls lifted Punjab to a competitive total of 200/8 in 20 overs.

For Mumbai Indians, Shardul Thakur starred with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 39 runs. Deepak Chahar also made an impact with two wickets, while stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah went wicketless in his four-over spell.

Chasing 201, MI began aggressively with Ryan Rickelton smashing 48 runs at the top. Rohit Sharma provided solid support with a steady 25 off 25 deliveries.

Tilak Varma then took charge of the chase with a sensational unbeaten 75, featuring six fours and six sixes. The left-hander shifted gears brilliantly in the closing stages as Mumbai Indians chased down 50 runs in the final three overs to seal a memorable victory.
