Yashasvi Jaiswal-Sai Sudharsan

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has cemented his spot as India's opening batsman, will remain the top choice for the role. Ahead of the England series, Sai Sudharsan has received his maiden call-up for the national side. With both batsmen enjoying their rich veins of form could turn out to be an opening pair, which Team India could count on

Yashasvi Jaiswal-Shubman Gill

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have earlier opened the innings for Team India in the white-ball formats. The lefty-righty combination would be an ideal choice for the opening slot. But considering the retirement of Virat Kohli, there would be a requirement to fill in the gap in the middle-order, for which Gill emerges as a potential option

KL Rahul-Yashasvi Jaiswal

Along with Jaiswal, KL Rahul would be another option for the opener's slot. But considering Rahul's performance in the middle-order, Team India's think tank would not likely want to use his potential at the top

Abhimanyu Easwaran-Yashasvi Jaiswal

Domestic stalwart Abhimanyu Easwaran could be a better choice if not Sai at the top. The 29-year-old Dehradun-born is yet to make his debut for the national side, but has showcased his skills in the domestic circuit. Having played 101 first-class matches, he has garnered 7,674 runs, including 27 tons and 29 half-centuries

Rishabh Pant-Yashasvi Jaiswal

India's newly appointed vice-captain Rishabh Pant is currently struggling to find himself among the runs. However, struggling to score in the middle-order, India could make tough decisions by making him open alongside Jaiswal in the English conditions
