As the World Test Championship (WTC) final inches closer, Australia's bowling quartet, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon, are all set to achieve a historic feat

Since their debuts for Australia, the quartet has registered 1,508 wickets in the longest format of the game. But these four premier bowlers have not tasted success together as one or another player missed out due to format-based team changes, injuries or other factors

In the previous year, the four Australian bowlers achieved the feat of completing 250 Test wickets each. Lyon, with 553 wickets, is placed in the third spot on the list highest wicket takers for Australia. Starc comes fourth on the list with 382 wickets, followed by Cummins (eighth) with 294 and Hazlewood (10th) with 279 scalps to their names

The WTC final outing will also mark the 33rd appearance of all four taking the field together in a Test match for Australia. Also, the 'Baggy Greens' have suffered just eight defeats in those 32 Test matches

Australia squad for WTC final: Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, Cameron Green, Beau Webster, Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, Nathan Lyon, Matt Kuhnemann. Travelling reserve: Brendan Doggett
