Krsn Shetty netted a brace as Smt RSB Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) defeated Cambridge International School (Kandivli) 2-0 to book their place in the boys U-16 Division I final of the Dreams Sports Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school football tournament at Wings Sports Centre, Bandra, on Wednesday.

Shetty opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a neat lob and then added his second after the break (19th minute). Cambridge, who had beaten St Stanislaus High School (Bandra) 2-0 in a previous match held on the same day, looked fatigued.

MSSA football secretary Sebastian Fernandes said the association was not to blame for this (a school having to play two matches in a day). "This match was scheduled yesterday, but since St Stanislaus had a DSO [District Sports Office] game, we didn't want to award a walkover. So, we spoke to both teams and they agreed to play two matches today in case they won their first game," Fernandes told mid-day.

On Wednesday, Don Bosco (Matunga) beat defending champions Cathedral and John Connon 2-0 in the first semi-final at the same venue. Skipper Jacob Singh Kshetrimayum and Aryan Parab scored for the Bosco boys.

The final will be played on Thursday at 12:30pm.
