Spain held to 2-2 draw by Turkey, but qualify for FIFA World Cup 2026

Spain booked their ticket to the 2026 World Cup with a 2-2 draw against Turkey in their final qualifier on Tuesday to top Group E.

Dani Olmo (4th min) fired Spain ahead, but Deniz Gul (42nd) and Salih Ozcan (54th) struck for Turkey as the hosts conceded their first goals in the qualifiers. However, Mikel Oyarzabal (62nd) ensured Spain finished their qualifying campaign without losing.

"It's a moment to look back and see all we've done, all we've worked for, the commitment from everyone, and celebrate. It's a nice moment for us and we'll enjoy it," said Spain's Marcos Llorente.
