Red Bull's Max Verstappen, fresh from having chalked up his maiden win of the season in Malaysia on Sunday, heads into this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix fired up to score another first.
The Dutchman, a 72-time Grand Prix winner, has never won around the glittering streets that host the city-state's floodlit spectacular. The Marina Bay track is one of only two circuits on the calendar that the 29-year-old hasn't tasted triumph at.
The other, Spain's Madring, only just hosted its first race of the year last month. But Verstappen could change all that on Sunday, if Red Bull carry the dominant form they displayed around the sweeping Sepang circuit last weekend, over to Singapore.
"The win was quite track-specific' so we'll need to see how we go heading into this week," said Verstappen ahead of the weekend.
"I enjoy this track as a street circuit, and it has a lot of corners and is quite bumpy. Singapore is a race that I haven't won before, so it does feel like unfinished business," he added. To break his Singapore duck, Verstappen will have to overcome a challenge from Mercedes.
The constructors' championship leaders saw Kimi Antonelli finish second in Malaysia, but were on the back foot all weekend, with upgrades failing to deliver and George Russell retiring with a power unit problem.
