At a function where Bollywood stalwart Salman Khan released her autobiography Ace against Odds, Sania spoke about the time when she was driven around the country in a car just to avoid staying in hotels.

"The whole idea of writing this book is to say that you don't always have a very privileged background to make it. You can come from very humble background like I did and you can still make it.

"My father, mother, sister and me used to travel in our car which we converted from petrol to diesel because that was the cheapest (fuel) at that time. I was eight to nine years old. To reach in time for matches and avoid hotel stay expenses, we even drove from Mumbai to Trivandrum sometimes, which used to take 24 hours," said Sania.
