A Kenyan powerlifter has been reprimanded by the International Paralympic Committee after testing positive for a banned substance contained in a cough medicine


Rio de Janeiro: A Kenyan powerlifter has been reprimanded by the International Paralympic Committee after testing positive for a banned substance contained in a cough medicine.

Gabriel Magu Wanjiku, who failed to register a valid lift in Friday's -59 kilograms class, was subject of a hearing after an adverse analytical finding for terbutaline in a urine sample provided on July 29 after an out-of-competition test in Nairobi, Kenya, the IPC said.
