MotoGP: Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez wins Catalan sprint race

Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez defeated pole-sitter Pedro Acosta to claim victory at the Catalan MotoGP sprint race here on Saturday.

Marquez overtook the Red Bull KTM rider on lap 4 of the 12-lap race and then displayed nerves of steel to withhold a late charge from Acosta.

VR46's Fabio di Giannantonio came home in third place. Earlier in the day, Acosta clinched pole position for the feature race on Sunday.
