A retired Air Force officer died on the spot and his colleague was injured after a speeding truck rammed their two-wheeler from behind at Wiekfield Chowk yesterday.

The truck driver, according to police, was driving in inebriated condition when the accident took place. The deceased, who was riding pillion, has been identified as Premchand Ramavtar Pasi (67), a resident of Ashok Nagar in Kharadi, while the injured rider was identified as retired Air Force officer Suvarna Singh Uppal (61), from Ashoknagar.
