Chicago: In a bizarre incident, a man in the US took a tiger cub for a stroll through a commercial area of a Chicago suburb and even entered a bar with the animal after which he was charged with misdemeanours.

John Basile took the tiger cub, a fluffy baby about knee-high, to Uncle Richie’s Bar in Lockport, Illinois.
Police did not think it was funny and have filed charges against Basile from disorderly conduct to possession of a dangerous animal for the latest incident. “My concern was really for the people who frequent the downtown area,” Lockport Police chief Terry Lemming was quoted as saying.
The charges are all misdemeanours. As Basile trotted the tiger cub down the street, it caused some rubbernecking. Some people seemed to think it was adorable.
“There were people in their cars shouting like, ‘Is that a tiger? Is that a tiger?’ going over the Ninth Street Bridge,” said an observer Frances Escoe.
