'Joker' to release Aug 31 next year

Director Shirish Kunder's "Joker", starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, will hit cinemas worldwide Aug 30, 2012.

Production company UTV Motion Pictures announced the release date through a press statement, issued Wednesday.

The comedy film features Akshay as a character who return to his hometown -- a place that's so remote and crazy that it's not even on the map.

What follows, puts the little town not just on the country's map, but makes it the focus of the entire globe. The story also involves aliens in the 3D comedy movie.
