However, he stepped away from showbiz after Katti Batti in 2015. He has been vocal about his personal struggles, the flipside of fame, and his battle with depression. He was also asked, “You kind of disappeared at your peak. What made you step away from films, and do you ever regret it?" He responded, “I had started to lose sense of who I was outside of my public identity." Responding to a similar question, Imran wrote, “I’ve enjoyed my time out of the public eye. The dispute surrounding the RK Family Trust has escalated after Priya issued a notice seeking the removal of Rani Kapur as trustee. Priya Kapur seeks removal of Rani Kapur as trustee As per the latest update from news agency ANI, Priya, who is a trustee and beneficiary of the RK Family Trust, has issued a notice removing Sunjay's mother, Rani Kapur, as a trustee with effect from March 25, 2026. "Your conduct is contrary to the terms of the trust deed and to your fiduciary duties as a trustee. As stated, you have sought a judicial declaration to dissolve the RK Family Trust, aiming to divest the trust of its entire corpus and revert all settled assets to yourself, while seeking to void all prior trust actions. Such an attempt to extinguish the trust for your personal gain is a complete breach of your fiduciary duties as a trustee," Priya Kapur said in a notice to her mother-in-law. The move comes days after Rani Kapur issued a notice to remove Priya from the RK Family Trust. According to an earlier notice, Priya Kapur is stated to have been appointed as a trustee following a meeting allegedly held on June 25, 2025, after the demise of Sunjay Kapur. However, the existence and validity of the RK Family Trust, as well as the settlement of assets into it, are presently under challenge before the Delhi High Court. About Rani Kapur allegations Rani Kapur is the elderly mother of the late Sona Comstar Chairman, Sunjay Kapur. Recently, in 2026, she moved the Delhi High Court, alleging that her daughter-in-law, Priya Kapur, used a "fraudulent" family trust to unlawfully divest her of her estate following her son's death in June 2025. She has sought cancellation of the trust and protection of the family legacy. Apart from Rani Kapur, Priya is also in a legal feud with Mandhira Kapur. She filed a defamation case against Mandhira, accusing her of circulating videos on social media containing “false allegations” against her, allegedly aimed at “causing social ostracism.” She is also in a tiff with Karisma Kapoor’s children over asset division.

Positioned as a potential chart-topper of the summer, the track is expected to resonate with audiences far and wide. The song will be unveiled at a grand launch event on March 28 at Mahant Digvijaynath Park in Gorakhpur from 6 PM onwards, setting the stage for a power-packed evening brimming with music, star presence, and palpable fan frenzy. Adivi Sesh about Dacoit Actor-writer-director Adivi Sesh has said that his character in the film is the most vivid he has played so far on screen. Talking to IANS, he said that Dacoit is the most character-driven film in his filmography. “It's definitely my most vivid character. I wouldn't say it's completely character-driven, like say an Arjun Reddy. But it's a lot more character-driven than my previous films. I've always come off a filmography where I loved my twists. And there's always this first time I'm in love with the emotions of the film”. He further mentioned, “So, who murdered whom is not a big question of this film. It's not who has done it. It's about emotions and the journey between two ex-lovers after 13 years. And we, for us, it was very exciting to set it in a violent time in the sense that that journey for them together is not just two people getting to know each other again. It's two people in the middle of a robbery setup, in the middle of guns, bullets, fire, rain, heat and desert.” The story combines elements of crime, action, and romance. Production is backed by Supriya Yarlagadda. The film marks a shift for Sesh toward a more commercial format compared to his earlier investigative thrillers. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on April 10, 2026. Marking Shaneil Deo’s directorial debut, this ambitious venture is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the film’s story and screenplay have been jointly crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Dacoit is gearing up for a grand pan-India theatrical release on April 10, 2026.

25 March,2026 01:55 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentAs Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to dominate the box office and the cinema buzz, fans have been on their toes observing the slightest details in the film and drawing parallels in the real world. A similar observation has given a Ludhiana-based doctor his tiny bit of Bollywood fame after his casting details became known. The doctor has reportedly been called on sets of Dhurandhar 2 to treat Arjun Rampal's head injury and ended up bagging a role in the film. Ludiana doctor shares details on Arjun Rampal's injury Dr Sunny Ashok, posted at the government health facility in Kalakh village, was called to the Dhurandhar set after Arjun Rampal sustained a head injury on July 8, 2025. For the unversed, Dhurandhar 2 was extensively shot in different parts of Punjab, such as a railway track near Ludhiana and Shahnewal Airport. Arjun, who plays an ISI agent Major Iqbal in the film, injured his head during a chase sequence being filmed at the railway track. In a conversation with The Tribune, Dr Ashok recalls, "There was panic as it seemed Arjun would need scans and hospitalisation. However, the injury was not serious. I checked his reflexes. All were happy that he was okay." How the doctor was cast in Dhurandhar 2 Three days later, the shooting team called Dr Ashok back on the night of July 11, when a schedule was underway at Shahnewal Airport. The medical professional simply wanted a photo with Ranveer Singh. "I asked Ranveer for a photo, at which he put his arm around my shoulder and said, 'Brother, why just a photo? We will take you in the movie,' I thought he was joking." Dr Ashok recalled. Aditya Dhar instantly agreed to the Dhurandhar star's idea and explained the scene to the doctor on the spot. It involved the climax scene where Ranveer Singh is required to receive medical attention. "That's my scene in the movie, though it is a split second," the doctor said. He further recalls how the shot was done in a single take. "Dhar congratulated me for acting natural, saying I never looked into the camera and behaved exactly as a doctor would when seeing an injured Indian hero de-boarding a plane," Dr Ashok revealed before adding, "All the film crew—and especially Ranveer and Arjun Rampal—were very down-to-earth and friendly."
25 March,2026 01:28 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentActor Imran Khan, who made a brief comeback to cinema earlier this year with a cameo in Happy Patel, conducted an AMA session on Reddit. He answered several questions posed by fans on the social networking site. One of his responses has particularly grabbed attention, as fans feel he took a dig at Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Imran Khan says no to macho roles A fan told Imran Khan, “Please do not transition to the macho roles which are so hot right now.” The actor replied, “Yeah, no interest in playing a hairy, angry man covered in blood. I think that genre is generously represented.” While Imran did not name anyone in his response, netizens assumed it was a dig at actors who are now taking up hyper-masculine roles (Dhurandhar and Animal). Another fan asked him during the AMA session, “You were one of the few actors who portrayed a ‘good man’ as calm, kind, and emotionally intelligent. Today, a lot of mainstream Bollywood heroes are loud, aggressive, and often glorify violence or problematic behaviour toward women. How do you see this shift as an actor? Do you think this is just a phase or a deeper change in storytelling? And do you see space for more grounded, sensitive male characters to return?” The actor replied, “I have also noticed this trend and am disturbed by the way these films coddle every violent tantrum thrown by emotionally immature man-children who can’t conceive of a valid reason that a woman might spurn their advances. It’s important to note that there’s a significant difference between portraying violence and toxicity and validating them. I see it as people chasing a trend without consideration. My own sensibilities would not permit me to participate in a narrative which I consider irresponsible.” Imran Khan's work front The actor who was last seen in a full-fledged feature film in 2016 has been teasing his comeback for a long time. The actor made a brief cameo appearance in Vir Das's Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos earlier this year. He is yet to officially announce his next feature film. He was recently seen with Parineeti Chopra on the sets of a project.

25 March,2026 11:40 AM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentThe director of KD: The Devil, Prem, has addressed the backlash and controversy surrounding the song Sarke Chunar from the film. He revealed that while he wrote the Kannada lyrics of the song, he didn't fully understand the Hindi version. He also stated how at a time when important issues like the Iran-Israel-US war and LPG shortage, there's no need to turn song into a controversy. Prem breaks his silence on Sarke Chunar row During an interview with Hindustan Times, Prem reacted to speculation that the outrage and controversy were a publicity stunt for the film. He dismissed the claim, saying, “I don’t want any controversy. Mine is an emotional film, and the song is meant to be something people dance to at parties. It’s been well received in Karnataka and Kerala. Why would I want controversy?” Further talking about the lyrics of the song, Prem explains that while he wrote the original Kannada lyrics, the Hindi version was translated by lyricist Raqueeb Alam. He confessed that he was unaware of the specific words that later drew criticism. “Everything went smoothly with the Kannada original. I didn’t understand the Hindi words used in translation, as I am not fluent in the language. I come from a village where phrases like ‘neeche mat gira, uthao’ are part of everyday speech, it’s Janapada,” he shared. The filmmaker says the contentious lines have now been changed and the updated version will be sent to the Censor Board soon. He also expressed regret, saying, “If anyone is hurt, I am very sorry. Our big film faced a small lyrics issue, but it has been blown out of proportion. There are so many larger problems in the world, war hai, LPG gas ki problem hai toh kyun ek gaane pe itni badi controversy kar di?” About the Sarke Chunar controversy The song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, sparked a controversy for its objectionable lyrics and choreography. The backlash led to the removal of the song from YouTube and other streaming platforms. It even backfired as a reported fatwa was issued against Nora. On the other hand, the National Commission for Women had also issued summons to Nora and Sanjay in connection with the controversy by taking a suo motu cognisance of the issue. Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi addressed the row, saying she had no idea about the Hindi version and had not allowed permission for her image to be used in it.
