Suniel Shetty's beaming. He recently won the Best Actor Award for his film Red Alert at the South Asian Film Festival and after lying low all of last year, he is now looking forward to a packed film diary with films like No Problem, Tum Milo Toh Sahi, Hello India, Ab Dilli Door Nahi and a few others.
Here's what the macho man told CS:

WHO: Suniel Shetty
WHAT: Talking about life, movies and the accolades
WHERE: At his residence at Altamount Road

Painting the town red
It is a great feeling to win this award. Red Alert wasn't appreciated only at the South Asian Film Festival, but also at the Stuttgart, Berlin and Goa Fest. In fact, there are talks of dubbing it in English and even German. I'm happy that the producer had the guts to show it at the Film Festival held in Goa; we got a standing ovation there and great reviews! To tell you the truth, even the Home Department wants to see the film.

Man of many myths
First, that I'm a smart businessman. This is absolutely not true. I look tough on the exterior, but I have a very mild and sensitive interior. Second, I paid to do my first film and production. This is utter bullshit. Third, I have a lot of money and am one of Bollywood's richest actors. Just because I come from a reasonably well-to-do background doesn't mean that I'm loaded with money!

Playing papa
I love spending time with my kids. I've had a beautiful childhood and I want the same for my children. Hence I spend as much time as I can with them. Both my kids are my friends in the true sense of the word. Athiya, who's studying for SAT, wants to go to NYU for studies, while Ahaan is big time into sports like me. On most days when my kids and I are free, we head to our Khandala farmhouse. I'm strongly connected to my roots and I make it a point to take Athiya and Ahaan to my native place, Mangalore, twice a year.

Besides films
My father is a restaurateur and so my name is associated with our hospitality ventures. But in reality, we have delegated it to professionals to manage and they are doing a wonderful job; unfortunately they don't get the credit for it. However, my current obsession is with architecture and construction and I'm working on a few projects - I want to create destination homes. As for leisure, I'm a complete water baby and so are my kids. We love jet skiing and kayaking. In fact, H2O originated from this love. We are the only country that has so much to offer in terms of various terrains and destinations but don't how to value what we have. I want to change this and promote the coastal belt; the Mumbai-Goa coast has beautiful reefs and we can have the best possible water sports and marina out there.
