MTV laps up Slumdog

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards nominees have been announced. Leading the pack with six nominations is Slumdog Millionaire that has got honours in the major categories including Best Movie, Breakthrough Performance: Female (Freida Pinto) and Breakthrough Performance: Male (Dev Patel).


Rahman's Jai Ho has also found a place in the Best Song From A Movie category, which was introduced this year.

The Movie Awards that are hugely popular and heavily attended will be held at May 31. Sources reveal that Freida and Dev might end up winning the The Best Kiss trophy.

Why? Well here's a hint... the duo were recently spotted kissing offscreen while at a restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel. Well, practising does help, no?
