Having worked with London-based hat sculptor Philip Treacy, Shilpa's willingness to adapt her out-of-box sensibility to the Indian context, was manifested when she pitted fashion and princely hierarchy in a collection titled, Battle Royale. If you'd seen her October 2008 show, you'd know that this year's line was a hit-and-a-miss. An extension of last year's content and styling, this line saw a slight twist when she used neta topis and stayed close to the military theme. We expected outrageous headgear and weren't disappointed: Carol Gracias walked in wearing a helmet fitted with fans that whirred as she strode down the ramp.u00a0 But the badges and medallions used as neck pieces were predictable. The Oriental broad belts were sassy, though.
