Speculation has been rife over whether Shahid Kapoor will take the bold step of going bald for his next film, Haider.

Shahid has had a consistent hairstyle in most of his films so far, barring Kaminay, where he had grown his tresses. But if sources are to be believed, this is now set to change. The actor will be breaking away from his lover boy image by going bald on January 27.

When contacted, Shahid’s spokesperson confirmed the news. “It has been a tough decision for him but he will go bald for his role in Haider,” says the spokesperson, adding that the actor debated this at length with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.

Shahid will leave for Kashmir on January 26 to shoot for the film’s second schedule and will be shaving his head the next day, says the spokesperson.
