The former Afghan beauty queen has always believed in helping the physically disabled. Isidoros Kouvelos, head of Greece’s Olympic mission, apparently told her that several Afgan soldiers had lost one of their body parts in the Afghan war but still had the zest for life. Vida felt so deeply for them that she even visited the participants to make them feel special.
