'Maja Ma' actor Barkha Singh, got in a conversation with mid-day.com where she spoke about all things Diwali.

Your plans this year?

This year Diwali is going to be in Australia. I’ve been working with the tourism board of Australia and I am back here to promote tourism in India. I am going to celebrate Diwali here in my own way with diyas  and mithai.

Favourite part of the festival?

Amazing mithais and it's holiday season so I get to spend time with family, friends and all my loved ones.

Favourite homemade sweets?

I think absolutely anything that my mom makes. For the longest time, I remember my mom has been making shakarpara on Diwali and they are really tasty and melt in the mouth so that is my favourite Diwali sweet.

What have you shopped for?

I don’t usually shop so much, I buy new clothes for Diwali but apart from that no, not really. There are some amazing sales so its fun to go for shopping but it's not a Diwali specific thing for me.

Favourite Diwali tradition?

All the mirchi lights and the diyas are my favourite Diwali tradition and also where you visit all your neighbours with mithai ka dabbas and then you get to eat their mithai. It's that one time of the year when everyone in the society meets each other properly.
