From Swiss Alps to Kashmir

The shoot of Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, is complete, save for a song. Initially, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh were to film the number in Europe. However, the shoot was deferred — first due to location issues, and then as the leading lady was in the family way. Since the romantic track could be filmed only after Alia welcomed her daughter with actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor, KJo had deferred the film’s release from February 2023 to April 2023. The filmmaker, who idolises Yash Chopra, wanted to shoot the song in the Swiss Alps, as a tribute to his late mentor. However, since Alia can’t leave daughter Raha behind for long, KJo has now reimagined the song and will film it in Kashmir. As an ode to the late Chopra’s songs, the number will see Alia flaunt chiffon sarees, while Ranveer will sport a suit.

Sanju, Arshad reunite

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi created an iconic screen jodi with Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai films. Later, the two actors went on to collaborate on Dhamaal and Double Dhamaal. While cinegoers are awaiting news of a third MunnaBhai outing, the duo is gearing up for their next outing together. Sharing a dekko from their new film, Sanju wrote, “Our wait has been longer than yours, but it is finally over. Coming together with my brother Arshad Warsi for yet another exciting movie. Can’t wait to show you, stay tuned.” Arshad too posted the image that sees them as prison inmates, saying, “Finally, it’s happening! Teaming up with my brother Sanjay Dutt for another entertaining movie.” To know more about their new project, keep watching this space.

Once a Fukra, always a fukra

Three days after the makers shared the first look and release date of Fukrey 3, Ali Fazal has opened up about his absence from the comic caper. Responding to queries about whether his character Zafar will be seen or not, Ali said, “Sorry saathiyon, iss baari nahin. Zafar bhai ko kabhi kabhi Guddu bhaiyya bhi banna padta hai. Aur do universes overlap ho jaate hain kabhi kabhi. Once a fukra, always a fukra. So I am around.” Reiterating that he won’t be joining the Fukras, Bholi Punjaban and Panditji this time around, he added, “I’d have wanted to be a part of it, but time and schedules didn’t allow me to. I will be back in the future at some juncture, maybe sooner than you expect. Zafar will be back after a small detour to entertain you guys!”

Phone tossed!

Ranbir Kapoor was at the receiving end of flak after a video, in which he is seen throwing a fan’s mobile phone, went viral. In the video, the Brahmastra actor doesn’t look too pleased after an admirer fails to click selfies, to his liking, with him. In the moments that follow, Ranbir can be seen taking the phone from his hand and tossing it away. Expectedly, social media users called him out for his rude and arrogant behaviour towards a fan who only wanted a picture with him. The episode reminded us of the time when an angry Ranbir had taken away the camera of a media-person, who had to retrieve it from the actor’s father Rishi Kapoor a day later. Coming back to the incident, we won’t be surprised if it is a publicity gimmick for his new campaign.

Shaadi celebrations

Ace designer Masaba Gupta, who was seen in the second season of Masaba Masaba last year, announced her wedding with actor Satyadeep Misra on Friday morning. The two, who have been dating for a while, decided to take their relationship to the next level. Interestingly, Masaba’s father and former West Indies cricket captain Sir Vivian Richards was present on the big day. The bride shared several pictures marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Alongside a series of pictures that featured actor-mother Neena Gupta and the Misra family, Masaba wrote, “For the first time ever, my whole life came together. This is us. My beautiful, blended family. Everything from here on is just bonus.”

Thanks, dad

Tanisha Santoshi, who made her debut with Gandhi-Godse: Ek Yudh, thanked her filmmaker father Rajkumar Santoshi for the opportunity. Sharing a picture with him and mother, Manila, Tanisha wrote, “Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your magnificent vision. From sitting next to you by the monitor as a baby, to you directing me. It’s been the most emotionally enriching experience of my life.”

Dinesh books his next

Even as his production house has a few films lined up, Dinesh Vijan has finalised a new project. This time around, he has acquired the rights to adapt Harinder Sikka’s best-selling novel, Vichhoda: In the Shadow of Longing. First published in 2019, the novel tells the story of strength, resilience, and sacrifice. Vijan said, “We’re thrilled to work with Harinder Sikka. His Vichhoda is a powerful and moving true story of deep love spanning a lifetime. We can’t wait to bring it to life.”
