Nearly three years since the release of Housefull 4 (HF4), producer Sajid Nadiadwala is contemplating a fifth instalment of the comedy franchise. This time around, he is roping in the principal cast of the first four outings. So, apart from Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, who have been key players of the series from the onset, the next outing will see John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Bobby Deol join them in funnier situations leading to a lot more laughter than before. Sajid, who is completely involved in all his movies from the conception stage, is said to be working on a story that does justice to the reunion of his characters. If that’s not enough, the filmmaker is also keen to bring together as many leading ladies of the HF franchise as he possibly can. Inside sources claim that Sajid is getting closer to cracking the plotline for the biggest instalment of the franchise. Moreover, the filmmaker would like to take HF5 on the floors by the end of 2023.
Not without my cric-kit
Ayushmann Khurrana has been a cricket enthusiast since his childhood. Not many know that he carries a cricket kit in his vanity van, so that he can play whenever there’s some time off. During outdoor shooting schedules, he indulges in the game with the local crew rather than going back to the hotel. It also gives him the opportunity to know and bond with the crew. Ayushmann recalls being a middle-order batsman and having “played as a leg spinner at district level,” during his school days. He says, “Whenever I get an opportunity to play cricket on set, I prod everyone to participate. I can get really competitive when I am on the pitch.”
That’s not true
The makers of Pushpa: The Rise have dismissed reports that Arjun Kapoor is being considered for the grey role of a cop in the sequel. Pushpa: The Rule that sees Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna reprise their roles, will go on floors this month. The producers reportedly said, “Fahadh Faasil is doing the role. We start shooting between October 20 and October 30, in Hyderabad. Then, we will move into the forest and other locations.”

Sam is back
After over a month in the US, Samantha is back in town. She had reportedly taken off to treat a skin issue that had relapsed suddenly. While there are no more details about it, we now hear that the actor had begun her prep for her character in director duo Raj-DK’s Citadel, which she is slated to begin filming with Varun Dhawan by early December. Sam is also said to have adopted a new lifestyle and a strict fitness programme for her new role. Before she begins her workshop sessions with Varun, the actor is slated to complete some pending work on Khushi, her film with Vijay Deverakonda. Meanwhile, Sam also has two movies being readied for release. Her sci-fi thriller, Yashoda, was slated to release on August 12, but was deferred due to delay in the post-production. While the makers have unveiled the teaser, they are yet to announce the new release date. Sam’s mythological drama Shaakunthalam, initially slated to arrive on November 4, has been pushed ahead as it is now being readied as a 3D offering.

SRK’s prep for Aryan
Even as casting for Aryan Khan’s maiden venture is underway, we have some more news on the project. Shah Rukh Khan is making sure that there are no compromises in a dream launch for son’s debut. The actor-producer has reportedly roped in Fauda creator and actor Lior Raz to further train Aryan for the web series. Though Aryan has studied filmmaking in the US, his superstar father believes practical on-the-job training will help him consolidate his career behind the camera. Shooting for Aryan’s yet-untitled project is slated to start by this year-end.
Wrapping up with a song
The shooting of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is now complete. The team wrapped up the thriller by filming a song featuring the Salgaonkar family — played by Ajay, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav — in Goa recently. Debutant Abhishek Pathak’s adaptation of Mohanlal’s 2021 Malayalam hit of the same name has Tabu reprise her character of the top cop, IG Meera Deshmukh. Akshaye Khanna is the new entrant in the suspense thriller, essaying the role of a cop and friend of Meera Deshmukh, who wants the Salgaonkars to confess their involvement in her son’s death case. Interestingly, the film’s team is planning to unveil its trailer with a grand event in Goa. The beach destination plays a pivotal part in the narrative and the makers believe there couldn’t be a better venue to showcase the movie’s first look to the audience.
