Have you heard? War 2 shoot wrapped up; Mumbai’s iconic Filmistan Studio sold for Rs 183 crore

After a 149-day shoot, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR have reportedly wrapped Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The buzz is that the final leg featured a vibrant dance number choreographed by Bosco Martis and composed by Pritam, which had the crew in awe. Reports suggest that the film includes six major action sequences, two songs, and intense drama, promising a high-impact instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. We have also learnt that Jr NTR’s wife and children, who are huge Hrithik fans, were on set to witness the dance face-off. Post-wrap, Hrithik hosted an intimate dinner for the Telugu superstar and his family, Ayan, and the crew. With just over a month to go, the team is gearing up to release two songs and the official trailer. Kiara Advani, who is entering the spy universe with the film, recently wrapped up parts in the movie. Ayan is expected to lock the final cut, complete with VFX and background score, within the next 20 days. War 2 is set to hit cinemas on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. It will clash with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Aamir Khan.

Ranveer Singh turned 40 on July 6 and marked the occasion by unveiling the first look of his upcoming film Dhurandhar. However, Reddit users noted that Deepika Padukone neither wished him publicly nor reacted to the poster on social media. Netizens wondered why, especially since Ranveer never misses an opportunity to cheer for Deepika online. While one post read, “Maybe she should appreciate her husband a little,” many fans defended the couple. “People’s relationships aren’t defined by public social media posts,” a user wrote. This was also Ranveer’s first birthday as a father.

Veteran actor Saira Banu remembered her late husband and legendary artiste Dilip Kumar on his fourth death anniversary, calling him an “inspiration for six generations of actors and the guiding star for those yet to come”. Banu shared a post on Instagram. She wrote, “The dearth of Sahib could never go, and yet, am still with him. In this lifetime, and in the next, my soul has learnt to walk beside him even in his absence.”

Mumbai’s iconic Filmistan Studio in Goregaon West, founded in 1943 by Sasadhar Mukherjee (grandfather of Kajol and Rani Mukerji) along with Ashok Kumar, is reportedly set to be demolished. Reacting to the news, The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has appealed to the Maharashtra government to preserve the four-acre studio, citing its cultural legacy and the livelihoods of thousands of film-industry workers. However, sources say the land has already been sold to a construction and development firm for a whopping R183 crore. The iconic site will be razed by December to make way for two 50-storey residential towers with about 400 luxury flats.
