The two have sparked dating rumours after making suspicious appearances together and supporting each other. To add to the rumours, sources have confirmed that the two are indeed dating. Reports claimed that their relationship is still fairly new, and for now, they have no plans of making it official anytime soon.

According to a News18 report, Dhanush and Mrunal met during an event in Hyderabad, since the actress is known to actively work in the south film industry, along with Bollywood. Their interaction soon turned to friendship, and eventually love blossomed between the actors. A source reportedly told the portal, "Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new, and they have no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted."
Sources further told News18, "Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts." Notably, Dhanush is 42-year-old while Mrunal recently turned 33. This means they have an age gap of nine years between them. That being said, these are just rumours for now, while Dhanush and Mrunal are yet to react to the reports themselves.
How the rumours sparked?
The rumours around Dhanush and Mrunal's close bond began circulating after the two were seen holding hands during a party in Mumbai. In the video shared on social media, the actress is also seen whispering something in the Raanjhanaa star's ear, which made him smile. The 42-year-old actor also reportedly flew down from Chennai to Mumbai to specially attend the screening of Mrunal's film, Son Of Sardaar 2. It grabbed eyeballs since he is known to rarely make public appearances when his movies are not up for release.

To add fuel to the rumours, Mrunal was spotted at the wrap-up party of Dhanush's upcoming film, Tere Ishq Mein, with Kriti Sanon, in July 2025. For those unversed, previously, Dhanush was married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for 18 years. However, the couple, who share two sons, Yatra and Linga together, announced their separation in 2022. They later got officially divorced in 2024.
