Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee and Paresh Rawal were all set to start filming for Bhagam Bhag 2 this month. The shoot of Bhagam Bhag 2 has hit an unexpected roadblock after legal tensions surfaced between filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa and producer Ektaa Kapoor. Amid reports that a legal notice stalled the film’s schedule over an alleged breach of contract, Raaj has now issued a strong statement addressing the controversy. About Ektaa Kapoor and Raaj Shaandilyaa feud A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Ektaa Kapoor has filed a legal case against Raaj Shaandilyaa for breach of contract. Raaj had signed a three-film deal with Ektaa and has now gone ahead to do not one but two films outside her banner. This has irked Ektaa, as Raaj didn’t take an NOC from her, nor did he refund the advance taken to direct the third project under her banner.” A legal notice was sent to Raaj, as well as producers Ashwin Varde and Cape of Good Films, to stall the shoot. “Seeing the complexities in the project, the producers decided to cancel the schedule until the legal issues are resolved. At the moment, all the stakeholders are trying to resolve the issues.” Raaj Shaandilyaa issues statement Reacting to the feud, Raaj’s team issued a statement clarifying that he has terminated his association with Balaji Telefilms. He also assured that Bhagam Bhag 2 is very much on track. The statement read, “I, Raaj Shaandilyaa, had, in accordance with my contractual rights, issued a notice terminating my arrangement with Balaji Telefilms.” He continued, “It has now been over two weeks since the termination notice was issued. If Balaji Telefilms believed it had any sustainable legal basis to challenge the termination, it was open to them to approach the appropriate civil court. No such proceedings have been initiated. These accusations are wholly unfounded and appear to be nothing more than an attempt to intimidate and browbeat after having realised that there is no viable case to challenge the termination.” The statement concluded, “I remain fully confident of my legal position and will address any such allegations through the appropriate legal process. It may also be clarified that the film Bhagam Bhag 2 is very much on track and the project will proceed as scheduled. Members of the film and creative industry may take note of the manner in which such pressure tactics are being employed and draw their own conclusions when deciding future professional associations.”

05 March,2026 01:59 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentSudipto Sen, director of The Kerala Story, recently criticised the latest sequel. The filmmaker slammed the research and claimed that the film was based on WhatsApp forwards. Although the director later clarified his remarks, saying they had been misconstrued, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, producer of The Kerala Story 2, has now reacted strongly to the criticism. Vipul Amrutlal Shah hits back at Sudipto Sen During a recent interview with India Today, Vipul opened up about Sudipto Sen's criticism and said, “I would say grapes are sour. To be very honest, I have never spoken about this, but I would like to put it to rest. He had written a script for The Kerala Story 2, which was absolutely trash. I did not want to make that film, and that is why I went ahead with [The Kerala Story 2 director] Kamakhya [Narayan Singh].” The producer went on to add, “He doesn’t even know what research we have done. He was not part of the entire research process, so how can he make those comments? I don’t usually comment, but when somebody attacks my film, that is when I am compelled to react. Otherwise, I don’t like to react. The film has been released, and I know the statements he made are baseless. That’s all I can say.” Sudipto Sen's comments Earlier, during an interview with the same publication, Sudipto Sen opened up about not directing the sequel, saying, “For the first film, I researched the subject for 10 years. I could stand by every word and visual in that film. If the sequel expands beyond Kerala into other states, I cannot rely on WhatsApp forwards or newspaper reports. Sensitive subjects require deep research and long-term study. Without that foundation, I wouldn’t feel responsible enough to direct it.” However, Sudipto later stated that his statement had been misconstrued and claimed that he turned down the project because his research was limited to one region. The Kerala Story 2 is helmed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner Sunshine Pictures. The film revolves around the story of three women who become victims of an abusive plot after marrying men from a different religion.

05 March,2026 11:15 AM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentIn a throwback interview with Lehren TV, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once addressed the perception of him being arrogant. In the interview, the actor went on to explain that what many call as his arrogance is actually him standing up for his self-respect and professionalism. Speaking about the perception around him, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I don't know if people call self-respect arrogance, then 100 percent I am arrogant. Now what happens in film magazines is that when I say this line, they cut the first part and say, ‘Yes, I am arrogant.’ So maybe that's why. The actor also spoke about his working style in the film industry, revealing that he has always insisted on wanting a proper script with dialogue when narrating a movie. According to Shah Rukh, this approach, earlier during his struggling drew criticism from some filmmakers, but later his same behaviour began to be seen as his dedication and passion for work once he became successful. “The second thing is that when I sign a film, I trouble people a lot. Now you can call it trouble or detailing. When someone brings a story to me and says this is the storyline, so now you do it, I say no, first you write the whole story with dialogue and give me the script. Because I am a stage artist. I trust the script so much that you give me the character and I will play it. He added, “Don't say that you are writing a story for Shah Rukh Khan. Don't say that you had Shah Rukh Khan in your mind while writing it and now I have refused. " He said, "Now that I have become a hit, people will say that he does things in detail and that's why he is a dark horse of the industry. Earlier, during my struggling days, when I used to do it, people used to say, 'what does he think of himself? He asks for a script from us.' It depends on what position the person is in. As long as it is going on, everything will go on.” In the same interview, SRK was seen talking candidly about carving his own space in the industry despite the presence of established stars like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan when he started out in the industry. When asked if he expected to reach their stardom upon entering the film industry, Shah Rukh said, “I know that Mr. Salman Khan is easily the biggest star ever in terms of time span. Mr. Aamir Khan, I personally feel is the finest actor in the country. Putting it politely, I have made my own position.” Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, the megastar made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Before entering films, he was an actor in the television space with popular shows like Fauji and Circus. Bollywood superstar Hema Malini is often credited for seeing potential in Shah Rukh Khan during his television days and giving him one of his early film breaks in the movie Dil Aashna Hai, produced under her film banner. Over the years, Shah Rukh Khan has went onto deliver a number of superhits including Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, Don, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express. The actor was last seen in Dunki and is now gearing up for his upcoming film King, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone. Looking back on the decade-long milestone, Mozez posted a video montage on his Insta handle comprising some of the film's unseen BTS moments. The post was accompanied by a gratitude note, sharing the incredible journey the director went through during the making of the movie. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mozez Singh (@mozezsingh) He wrote on the photo-sharing app, “Zubaan was a turning point in my life. It was a film that I had to make, no matter what. Calling it one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life, he added, “Making it became the most exhilarating experience of my life. It felt like I was living my truest self. It was pure, unadulterated joy."
