Millie Bobby Brown is a mother!
The Stranger Things star, 21, and her husband Jake Bongiovi, 23, adopted their first child together and announced the news on Instagram on Thursday, August 21.
"This summer, we welcomed our darling baby girl through adoption. We are incredibly thrilled to begin this beautiful new chapter of motherhood in quiet and solitude," she stated in the article. "And then there were 3."
Millie's heartfelt note
The couple, who started relationship speculations in June 2021 after Bongiovi published a selfie with the actress, first met on Instagram. The actress revealed to Wired in 2022 that they "were friends for a bit" before they started dating. The couple married secretly in May 2024.
In October, the couple shared photographs on Instagram from their family and friend-filled event at Villa Cetinale in Italy. "Forever and always, your wife," the actress captioned the carousel, which included photographs of their wedding and Brown's two exquisite bridal gowns.
Bongiovi also shared his own Instagram photos from the couple's big day. "Forever and always, your husband," he wrote with images of the newlyweds. In his carousel, the couple can be seen exchanging vows behind a white floral arch. Other photographs show the couple smiling in front of rows of tall trees. Bongiovi also uploaded a photo with his father, Jon Bon Jovi.
All about their parenthood journey
During an appearance on the Smartless podcast in March, the actress discussed increasing her family with Bongiovi. At the time, the actress expressed excitement about becoming a mother. "My mother gave birth to her first kid when she was 21, and my father was 19 years old. "And you know, it's been my thing since before I met Jake," Brown explained. "Since I was a baby, I informed my mother about baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom as my mother was to me."
"And my nan, my grandma, was an important part of my existence. And so, yeah, Jake knows how important it is to me, and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actress and producer, but I also think it's extremely important to start a family for myself," she continued. "It's a major deal. Jake was like, "We can't do that until we get married." "So that was his thing."
The Electric State singer went on to reveal that she and her husband intend to have a large family because they both come from families with four children. "And my point was that I genuinely wanted a family. "I really want a big family," Brown explained. "I am one of four. He is one of four. So, it is absolutely in our future, but for me, having your own child isn't really any different than adopting."
