Thieves steal Kang's luggage
According to his agency, ARA, thieves broke into a staff vehicle associated with the singer and stole a suitcase containing stage costumes, hair and makeup tools, and other items on Saturday. The agency said that Kang's team managed the situation by purchasing replacement items so that the concerts could go ahead as planned and ensured that the robbery did not cause any disruption.
Kang also took to his social media handle to confirm the robbery. While he lost all his luggage, the singer maintained a positive attitude and promised a fun show for his fans. “All my luggage was stolen — costumes, hair and makeup tools, even merchandise goods,” he wrote, before reassuring fans by adding, “But let’s still make it a fun show.”
Kang Daniel is currently touring 12 US cities. The cities on his tour include Charlotte, Washington DC, New York City, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Jose. On September 3, he released his new single titled No Day. After his US tour, he will head to South America, where he will perform in Argentina and Brazil.
About Kang's cancelled show in New Jersey
The former Wanna One member is currently on a roll with tours and performances across the world. Apart from the robbery incident, the singer also faced a roadblock in his US tour with a cancelled show in New Jersey. The concert, scheduled for September 6, had to be cancelled abruptly due to an unsafe stage setup, lack of preparation, and unexpected operational problems in the local systems. The singer communicated the cancellation through his agency and also apologized for the inconvenience caused to fans.
The statement said: "I sincerely apologize to the fans who came to the scene, looking forward to today's concert. We discussed with the local side until the last minute, but we inevitably decided to cancel the performance in an incomplete environment because it could be a bigger risk for fans," he said. "Tickets are automatically refunded without a separate request."
