Content creator and reality TV star Anshula Kapoor has always championed the idea of embracing one’s body at every stage of life, but she insists her journey towards body positivity wasn’t triggered by a single moment. “It was more of a gradual process,” she explains. “Over time, I realised that waiting to look a certain way before being kind to myself was just holding me back. Once I started treating my body with respect, rather than criticism, I began to feel more comfortable in my own skin.”

Societal pressures on beauty standards are real, she admits, and she has felt them too. Yet, instead of chasing an elusive ideal of beauty, she focuses on what makes her feel good. “Beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. I pay attention to my health, my work, and the people around me who uplift me. That’s what matters.”


For Kapoor, fitness has evolved beyond physical appearance. “It’s about feeling strong, energetic, and mentally at peace. It’s less about the number on a scale and more about how my body supports me in living the life I want.” While many have fixated on her weight loss journey, she clarifies, “It wasn’t only about the way I look. It was about prioritising my health and well-being. Weight loss was just part of the journey towards feeling balanced, both physically and emotionally.”



Mental well-being and body confidence, she stresses, are deeply intertwined. Listening to oneself and allowing space for low days is key. “Therapy has helped me understand how I see myself often comes from within, not from the mirror,” she says.

Social media, she notes, can be both uplifting and toxic. Filtering out negativity has become essential. “Just because someone shares their opinion online doesn’t mean I have to treat it as the truth. I focus on the people I hold close, and on the days I’m not mentally at my best, I avoid reading comments or DMs. It’s about protecting your peace.”
