Devoleena Bhattacharjee had recently opened up about facing trolls for racism over her son's skin colour. The actress had then taken stern action by filing a police complaint. Now in an exclusive conversation, Devoleena opened up about the bullying that she faced and what measures she took to safeguard her child.
Devoleena reacted to the trolls
Devoleena has always been vocal about trolls and she has never chosen to bow to them. When asked about how she chooses to stay calm amid such bullies, she shared, "Bullying itself is not welcome, when we understand live and let live. Where from bullying come from? I'm at my happy place. What are you bothered about? Why are you poking into my life?"
TheSaath Nibhana Saathiyaactress further added, "Still, I always laughed and entertained trolls who bullied me on several occasions about several topics. But this time it was beyond, you targeting a baby, who's just 7 months old.. are you sick! I feel sorry for such people. every time legal action needs to be taken against them.. There needs to be a strict criterion for using social media to keep it healthy."
Devoleena on the mother's pain
For a mother, it is impossible to hear such lowly comments about their child, especially when the remarks are made on her son's skin colour. Devoleena reacted, "Seriously, I'm strong, I'm sure my baby will be stronger. God was born with dark skin, you praise them, and with the tag of Sanatan, you make fun of other children! Racism is a crime; no one does that, they are criminals, and they need to be punished. No one can be spared."
Devoleena expressed gratitude to the cyber cell for helping her out on catching the ones who had been online bullying her and her child, "They are helpful, very supportive. Many accounts got deleted. Soon they will trace and action will be taken. It's a criminal offence."
Devoleena went on to share, "I feel if things go out of hand, leave things to karma. Karma leaves no one. each and everything we do has a result. If we do good, we are rewarded; if we do bad, we are punished."
