On Laughter Chefs 2, Divyanka Tripathi mistakenly called YouTuber Elvish Yadav "Samarth," leading to online trolling. Elvish defended her, urging fans to stop the hate
Divyanka Tripathi, Elvish Yadav
On the popular show Laughter Chefs, TV star Divyanka Tripathi recently failed to recognise YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The commentators were very critical of her for failing to remember him. Elvish, however, has responded to the criticism by endorsing Divyanka.
Elvish's post in support of Divyanka
He asked his followers to be kind on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He wrote, "Guys, I don’t use social media much & I’m confused about why people are trolling Divyanka. But guys, she’s super chill & deserves respect!”
He added, “My request: please stop trolling her. Let’s spread kindness instead.” However, Divyanka also reacted to the support extended by Elvish and shared that she shall detail on everything that had happened at the set.
Divyanka wrote, “Hey Elvish! Sending you back tons of love. Also, hugs to the fans who have been spreading the word not to take the troll route. Someday, I'll narrate to you how it all unfolded and we'll have a good laugh about it!”
Divyanka had previously shared on her Instagram handle, reacting to the trolls, "I want to thank genuine Elvish fans for being nice. True fans, first, keep their idol’s respect in mind. Double thanks to the trollers for increasing my engagement." She further added, "My inner systumm automatically bounces back your foul language to you and your family. Karma! Those being nice shall always be blessed…says my core divinity!"
What had happened on the show
For those who are unaware, on the most recent episode of Laughter Chefs 2, Divyanka introduced Elvish on stage and mistakenly thought he was Samarth Jurel. She went ahead and shook hands with Elvish after announcing Samarth, saying, "Hi Samarth."
After the mistake, Aly Goni, Krushna Abhishek, and others were left laughing. But Divyanka quickly realised her error and expressed her regret. In order to prevent trolling by Elvish's supporters, she also joked on the air and acknowledged that the segment should be cut out.
The show is set to wrap its second season on 26-27th July. As per the rumours and viral posts, Elvish Yadav and Karan Kundrra lifted the trophy. The boys have managed to not only impress the judges but also the audience with their culinary skills.
