The Family Man creator says team has no role in dubbing script after clips go viral

Netizens have been having a field day with the dubbed versions of the show, originally shot in Hindi. A large portion of The Family Man 3 takes place in the North East, with Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Nimrat Kaur playing primary roles. Many users have been sharing amusing clips from the Tamil dubbed version. One such viral video features a heated phone call between Nimrat Kaur and Jaideep Ahlawat, where the dubbed dialogue uses oddly strong language in Hindi.

Writer and director Suman Kumar reacted to the audience’s complaints about the dubbing. He clarified that the team has no involvement in writing the dubbing script for the series.

On Friday, he posted on X, “We have nothing to do with the dubbing scripts, guys. Don’t DM me like kundis.”

Nimrat Kaur talks about finding empowerment through her role

Actress Nimrat Kaur opened up about the empowering experience of portraying a strong female character in The Family Man Season 3. She plays antagonist Meera in the series.

Reflecting on navigating a male-dominated writers’ room and adding depth to her character, Nimrat shared, “I think it's fascinating that the writer's room is all men. We are meeting a woman in a man's world who's running a show like a man and is written by men. I find that fascinating, and it is so empowering to take that position and then fly with it and look at your own self.”

She added that playing Meera often made her reflect on her own personality: “Many times, I used to think about myself and feel it would be cool to be this self-assured in situations where otherwise I’d be hiding under a quilt.”

The Airlift actress also spoke about the contrast between her character’s confidence and her own real-life persona, saying that acting gives her the freedom to embody qualities she may not possess off-screen.

“It is so interesting that what I'm trying to sell as an idea or as a character on screen, I'm not sure if I can pull it off in real life. I really don't know if I have it in me with my conditioning and upbringing. This is the freedom of being an actor,” Nimrat said.
