Purav Jha might not have won The Traitors, but he definitely won hearts with his gameplay and ‘acting’, something that everyone has been praising him for. Despite being the traitor since day one, he managed to put up a show and convince everyone otherwise by playing the underdog. When mid-day got a chance to sit with him for a brief chat, he explained his entire strategy in one simple sentence: “Action as soon as you get up and cut just before going to sleep.”
He also spilt the beans on what went on inside the secret tower when the traitors met and more. Here’s an excerpt from the interview.
Purav Jha exposes Elnaaz Norouzi’s claims
When asked about eliminating his fellow traitor, Elnaaz Norouzi, Purav admits feeling genuinely sorry at first for taking her name in the circle of shaq. However, he also reveals that after he came out and watched the episode, he was shocked to know that it was actually Elnaaz who was plotting against him. He also believes that eliminating her was the best decision.

Further, he shared how she was lying about the fact that the traitors would have two-hour-long conversations inside the secret tower. He shares, “I think she said that we used to talk in the secret tower for 2 hours. It's a lie. It's a white lie. It's nothing like that. We didn't talk for 2 hours. We had to sleep and wake up the next day. When I saw her clips, I thought to myself that we never talked for 2 hours.”
Noting an exception, he says, “I remember one night when there was a recruitment, which takes time. It took 1 hour that night, not more than that. Otherwise, after 30-35 minutes, the production team used to tell us to do whatever we wanted to do soon. We had to sleep, the rest of the team had to sleep. It's not just about us, there’s a crew of 200 people working there, and it's about them as well. They also need to sleep. It was nothing like 2 hours. It's a lie. It's okay if she is saying it, but there was nothing like that.”
Purav says Nikita couldn’t play as a traitor
On Nikita Luther declining the traitor's offer to join them, he shares, “She wouldn't have played as a traitor. I understand that Nikita is emotional. She doesn't play mind games or doesn’t have tricks in her mind. You need a smart mind to play as a traitor.”

He shares how it was actually Elnaaz’s plan to offer Nikita a chance to be a traitor because she wanted to sacrifice the latter. “Since day one, she was constantly wanting to sacrifice someone,” he shares. Even after Nikita declined the offer, she was still saying the same thing, and that’s when the YouTuber realised that his game was different from Elnaaz’s.
Purav Jha to make his acting debut
One of the many people to be heavily impressed by Purav’s acting skills was Bollywood filmmaker and casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was also a contestant on the show. When we chatted with Mukesh, he was all praise for Purav and shared that he even texted the 23-year-old praising him.
When we asked Purav, he acknowledged the fact that Mukesh had messaged him. In addition to that, he also revealed that they are working on “something big” together, and an announcement will be made soon.
