A celebration of the bond between siblings, Rakshabandhan is a joyous holiday. Custom dictates that brothers share gifts with their sisters, and this has even become a two-way exchange in recent years. In times like ours when we have had to skip on many celebrations and events this past year due to the pandemic, we propose ditching gifts for fun experiences. Shared experiences make the best of memories and strengthen bonds. With the recent relaxation in lockdown restrictions, many establishments are also open on the weekends. Whether your sibling is a foodie or gaming enthusiast, we have curated a list of fun experiences for you to enjoy with your siblings this Rakshabandhan.

Brunching

Since Rakshabandhan is falling on a Sunday this year, what better way than to start off the day with an indulgent brunch. Treat your siblings to some freshly baked croissants, steaming dim-sums, or sip on bottomless cocktails together. Several restaurants around the town, including Foo, KOKO, 91 Gymkhana, are hosting Sunday brunch this week. Khar’s Tori and Juhu’s Pink Wasabi will be serving complimentary desserts to all siblings celebrating Rakshabandhan.

VR Gaming
If you or your siblings are gaming enthusiasts, opt for an immersive virtual reality experience at Lower Parel’s Zero Latency. The Australian gaming brand aims to provide heart-pounding and life-like experiences through its multiplayer virtual reality game. Get competitive with your loved ones while testing your zombie-killing skills in the 30-minute free-roam Zombie Survival. They are currently offering 15 percent off on pre-bookings for Rakshabandhan.

Dunk, drink, and dine

Walk down memory lane with a visit to Game Palacio, India’s first upscale boutique bowling and gaming arcade which comes with a multi-cuisine restaurant. Patrons can sip cocktails from the restro-bar, hit the Art-Deco bowling alley, shoot a few hoops, and try their hand at Pac-Man, all in a day’s play. Spending an evening here means allowing your inner child to run wild, and who better to do it with, than your siblings?

Escape rooms

If you and your siblings enjoy thrilling experiences, consider visiting Mystery Rooms. For those who are not aware of the concept, your team enters a locked room with the goal of escaping by solving clues within the allotted time. With many different narratives and game plots to choose from, there is never a dull moment in this action-packed activity room. A team of minimum two and maximum eight players can tackle this high-pressure game which lasts 60 minutes.
