Ziqitza Healthcare Limited highlights the Health & Wellness Trends in 2021

Ziqitza Healthcare Limited

In 2020 for us at Ziqitza Healthcare Limited, as an Emergency Service Provider, we are at the forefront with the various state government and corporates to ensure that our services which are so critical are not hampered at all.

COVID-19 pandemic has been a wakening call for all of us. Most of health and wellness trends in 2021 will be focussed around the same.Given below are the few trends as explained by Dr. Santosh Datar from Ziqitza Healthcare Limited:

  1. COVID-19 prevention measures

Individuals, health care institutions, law makers, government bodies, corporates, industries, and commercial establishments will continue taking measures to prevent the infection. Social distancing measures, handwashing, wearing mask in public places, sustained awareness campaigns, isolation and quarantine measures, staggered attendance at workplaces, work from home directives and other measures may have to followed throughout the year. COVID-19 vaccination when initiated by Government of India will be one of the biggest immunization drives, is what the doctors at Ziqitza believes.

  1. More focus infectious diseases

The observations by Dr. Datar from Ziqitza in health and wellness have been dominated by control and prevention of lifestyle diseases. However, now the focus also will be on prevention of not only COVID-19 but other infectious diseases. They may include other respiratory infections, seasonal infections, gastro-intestinal infections, skin infections, infections of Genito-urinary tract and infections of nervous system.  Adult vaccination will have more acceptance and will have an enhanced role to play.  Epidemic and pandemic preparedness will get a boost.

  1. Work from Home Health Issues

Though work from Home has many advantages, it may also have few health issues such as lack of exercise, binge eating, eating ready to cook foods containing high sugar, fat and salt content, boredom and anxiety issues, domestic discords, etc. The health and wellness consultants will focus more on resolving these issues.

  1. Emphasis on Mental Health

Mental health is as important as physical health. Many people are experiencing mental health issues due to the ongoing pandemic. They may include fear, anxiety, increased workload, yearning for human contact, job security issues, financial worries etc. Health care professionals including Mental health professionals, government bodies and managements will focus more on the same offering counselling services. We at Ziqitza believe that while dealing with Mental Health Disorder first requires awareness & acceptance of the same. The person should be referred to a professional such as physician, counsellor or psychiatrist. Diagnosis can be made by a detailed medical history taking, physical examination and investigations. Any physical disease causing the symptoms has to be ruled out. Medical treatment mainly consists of psychotherapy and medication. Psychotherapy, or "talk therapy", is a way to treat people with a mental disorder by helping them understand their illness. It teaches people strategies and gives them tools to deal with stress and unhealthy thoughts and behaviours.

  1. Health Care Management

All health care institutions will continue to take measures for prevention of not only COVID-19 but other infections. Day care procedures, tele consultations and other measures which minimize hospital visits and stay will be followed. Ziqitza Rajasthan also has appreciated the health trends shared by Dr. Datar.

Everybody must look at the positive lessons learnt from the last year and continue to take measures for sound physical and mental health. The core thought of Ziqitza counselling is to follow measures that includes creating awareness, training more mental health professionals, making the mental health services easily accessible for all, making appropriate laws to prevent stigmatisation and discrimination of a mentally ill person. Physical and mental health are two sides of the same coin. An individual can promote positive health by adopting healthy life style measures such as adequate sleep, nutritious diet, regular physical exercise, keeping weight, blood pressure and blood sugar under control, refraining from alcohol, tobacco, and other addictive substances, stress management and practising yoga, meditation and relaxation techniques.
