Anand Jon's mother Sashi Abraham feels that the Los Angeles court is targeting their family and everyone who is fighting for Anand. The mother feels that after Jon, it is the turn of her daughter, who has been accused of contempt of court charges for speaking to Juror No 12 Alvin Dymally in the Anand Jon case.

Over a telephonic conversation with Sunday MiD DAY from Los Angeles, Abraham claims, "There was no evidence against Jon, but he was convicted. Everything was fabricated, as there was no proof against my son.

My daughter never contacted the juror, but it was the juror who approached her and wanted to meet her, but she refused. Now the judge has accused her on the charges of contempt of court."

She adds, "Sanjana is very strong and has been fighting for Jon, so they have targeted her. Why don't they put all of us inside the jail? Let them put all of us behind bars. At least, we all will stay together inside. There is no one to listen to us."

Talking about her meeting with her son after the conviction, she says, "Our life is ruined. He was crying and had lost all the faith in the law. The judge was not ready to listen to him. He kept shouting for justice, but the judge said that the time was up. He is shattered."

Sanjana had recorded the phone conversations with Dymally, who had called her. In the first call on October 27, Dymally asked her if she was married. In a second conversation on a call made by him on November 3, he asked for a meeting. After Jon was found guilty on November 12, Sanjana then reported the contacts to the defense team, who in turn informed the judge and the prosecution of possible juror misconduct.

But the judge said in the last hearing that his motivation was unclear and there was no proof Dymally was trying to "sell his vote for sex or money. The court finds the misconduct did not have an effect on the juror's ability to be fair."
