At least 38 dead in rain related diseases in Mumbai

Two more deaths were reported today in the city taking the toll of rain-related diseases to 38 since June.

Two more deaths were reported today in the city taking the toll of rain-related diseases to 38 since June.

According to civic officials, the death toll is almost same as compared to last year during the same period. 39 deaths were reported last year.

The number of deaths due to fever was 23 this year as compared to 10 last year in the corresponding period followed by malaria with total 9 deaths this year as compared to 14 last year, civic officials said.


Nearly 10,021 cases of rain-related diseases were reported this year as compared to 10,081 cases last year in the same period.



The number of cases due to fever was 5,971 this year as compared to 6,026 last year in the same period followed by Gastro with total cases of 2,103 this year and 2,124 last year, malaria saw 1,853 cases this year and 1,557 last year.
