Two men allegedly snatched a 28-gram gold chain worth Rs 2 lakhs from a 74-year-old woman at Pushp Vihar Junction in Ghatkopar in the early hours of April 15.
The victim, 74-year-old Kishori Mehta, was targeted by two accused—identified as Irfan and Mohammad Ali Shaukat Ali Mirza—who allegedly snatched her gold chain and attempted to flee on a motorcycle.

Police constable Ravindra Kurhe from Pant Nagar Police Station, who was on patrol duty in the area, spotted the incident and immediately gave chase. In what appeared like a scene straight out of a film, Kurhe pursued the suspects and managed to nab Mirza with swift action and presence of mind.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras in the area. The stolen gold chain has been recovered from the accused.
