Communication and cyber crime security, public awareness and education, community outreach programmes, security protocol for commercial and other establishments, administration interface, control of crime related to fake currency notes, narcotics, smuggling and hijacking are the areas which these sub-groups will act.

Those heading the sub-groups include IT expert Vijay Mukhi and Mumbai Sheriff Indu Shahani.
"The groups will conduct a thorough study of their subjects and make necessary recommendations to the council," Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said on Wednesday.
The council was formed on the lines of National Security Council to strengthen state security.
